Healthy Foods needs Healthy Containers
I didn’t always eat healthy. Just out of college and working at a high tech, high stress job, I mostly ate fast food. I was in my 20′s and I should have been full of energy, yet I felt run down and tired all the time.
Eventually, this scared me enough to begin to exercise and eat healthier. As part of this life change, I started packing my lunch and snacks to-go so that I always had healthy options. Within a few months I was feeling great.
After my kids were born, rather than get stuck at a drive thru, I started packing food for them too. They grew older, started school, and, you guessed it…more food packing!
By prepping in advance, cooking extras for dinner, and washing and chopping vegetables on the weekends, packing meals became easier. The only thing missing was a safer way to pack our healthy meals.
Concerned about chemicals in plastic containers leaching into our food, I went on a search for alternatives. Stainless steel was the perfect material; it’s safe, lightweight, and non-breakable. However, I couldn’t find stainless steel food containers anywhere—not online, not in restaurant supply stores, not in kitchen gadget stores.
After a year or so of searching for stainless steel food containers and not finding what I needed, I built it. In 2008, I launched LunchBots from the garage of my home in Northern California.
LunchBots is a family-owned business and our mission is simple: to provide the highest quality, best-looking, healthiest food containers on the planet.
